Write a better SEEK job ad with AI.
Updated 16 October 2026
Most ads on SEEK read the same because they start from the last ad. This workflow starts from the hiring manager’s brief instead, and uses AI for the bits it’s good at: structure, plain English and a decent first draft. You still do the judgement.
Before you start
- Have your intake notes from the hiring manager call.
- Use an AI assistant your business has approved. Don’t paste client names or salary details into a personal account.
- Check your SEEK ad type and any length limits in your SEEK account. They can change.
The steps
Turn notes into a role summary
Paste your notes (with names removed) and ask for a plain-English summary first, not the ad.
“From these intake notes, list what this person will spend most of their time on in the first six months, who they’ll work with, and what success looks like. Flag anything unclear. Australian English.”
Fix what it guessed
Compare the summary with your notes. Delete anything it invented, like benefits or flexibility nobody mentioned.
Draft the ad for a passive candidate
“Write a SEEK job ad from this summary for someone happy in their current job. Open with what’s different about this role. Short paragraphs, three to five bullet points for the key responsibilities, then requirements. No clichés like ‘rockstar’ or ‘fast-paced environment’.”
Check for barriers and bias
“Review this ad. Point out any requirements that aren’t essential to the job, and any wording that could put off people based on age, gender, disability or cultural background.”
Take this seriously. “Digital native”, unnecessary years of experience and “young, dynamic team” are the usual suspects.
Write your SEEK summary and screening questions
Ask for three versions of the short summary line, then pick and edit one. For screening questions, try our screening question builder and keep them tied to genuine requirements.
Read it aloud, then post
If it doesn’t sound like you or your client, change it. Check salary, location and work rights wording against what was agreed.
Worth knowing
If your ATS posts to SEEK, you can usually do all of this in the ATS and push the ad from there. SEEK lists its connected ATS partners on its own site. Before you rely on AI in screening, read our notes on how we check tools and your own privacy policy.
