Methodology
How we check tools.
Updated 16 October 2026
We’re a small, independent team who’ve spent years on the recruiting side of the desk. This page explains exactly how listings and guides get made, so you can judge how much weight to put on them.
Where the facts come from
- The vendor’s own website first. Every listing is summarised from the vendor’s official site, and the tool page links to the exact source we used.
- Official partner pages for integrations. If we say a tool integrates with JobAdder or SEEK, we link to a JobAdder, SEEK or vendor page that says so. If we can’t find one, we leave it out.
- Government and regulator sites for anything legal. Our privacy and employment-law guides link to the OAIC, Fair Work and federal legislation. They’re general information, not legal advice.
What we won’t publish
- Made-up numbers: user counts, “saves X hours”, accuracy rates or market share.
- Prices we haven’t seen on the official pricing page. Where we do show prices, we show the date we checked and the currency the vendor used.
- Hands-on claims for tools we haven’t used. Every listing says whether it’s been reviewed. So far, none have.
- Rankings someone paid for. Sponsors and affiliate partners don’t get a better position or a softer write-up.
How often we check
Each tool page shows the month it was last checked. Guides and articles show an “Updated” date at the top. Prices, plans and integrations change often, so always confirm on the vendor’s site before you buy.
How we make money
Some links are affiliate links, and some placements are sponsored. Both are labelled every time. Read the affiliate disclosure.
Spotted something wrong?
Vendors and readers can tell us. We’ll check the source and fix it, usually within a few days.
